U16 Away: Billingham 1 - Bradford 16

It seems like forever since the end of last season and the new one finally beginning., But match day arrived and it was up to Billingham for the 1st game of the 14/15 season.Both teams benching a reasonable 13 outplayers. The puck dropped and the games started. :In the net for Billingham- Callum Reynolds in net for Bradford- Ashley Smith. . . .A well drilled Bradford side took control straight away and just 0.41 seconds in Lachlan Brownrigg #33 opened the scoring for Bradford assisted by Adam Barnes #71. score 0-1 . There followed a lot of passing back and forth but with Bradford keeping the puck mainly in their offensive zone. Billinghams No 6# Josh Reynolds took a minor penalty for tripping at 4.46. . . then it took nearly another 6 minutes for Adam Barnes #71 to score goal No. 2. for the Bulldogs.at 7.26 score 0-2. . . . closely followed by No 3 at: 7.43 scored by Max Broadhurst #98 assisted Lachlan #33. . Score 0-3 . . ..Billingham just didnt seem to be able to get into their stride and were not putting up much of a threat. . .goal No 4 came at 8.14 courtesy of Ryan Kemp #8 assisted by James Royds #66. score 0-4 . . . with the puck very rarely passing the blue line Bradford were on a roll and goal No 5 came at 8.46 scored by Lewis (Boom)Baldwin #14 assised by Ryan #8. . . U14 playing up Jacob Lutwyche #73 got the 6th at 11.59 with assists for Matthew Barlow #39 & Niks Veiss #89 The 1st period ended 0-6 and the Bulldogs firmly in control and unwaivering . . . .shots on goal for Bradford 20-- for Billingham 3The 2nd period pretty much followed in the same vein as the first with the Lions share on the puck going to Bradford, and it was just 11 seconds in at 15.11 Lachlan Brownrigg #33 scored the 1st goal of the 2nd period assist Adam #71 Score 0-7 . . .Bradford picked up a minor penalty, Lewis Baldwin got 2 mins for charging. . but quickly followed by goals No 8 , 9 & 10 . for Adam #71, Niks #89 & Max #98 . .Bradford got 2 minor penalties Lachlan got 2 mins for clipping and Alex Marsden #65 got 2 mins for tripping but even at 5 on 3 Billingham were struggling to push forward. It was turning out to be a nightmare game for the home team and a very easy game for the visitors. . . Score 0-10. . . just before the buzzer went for the end of the period Max Broadhurst #98 got goal No 11 quickly followed by goal No 12 scored by Ryan Kemp #8. . .The end of the period couldnt come soon enough for Billingham they were now trailing 0-12 and were clearly feeling the strain. . shots on goal for Bradford 11-- for Billingham 3. .The final period started Billingham changed their netminder in came Alex Kelly, and after a bit of a scuffle and confusion in front of the Bradford net the puck went in for Billinghams one and only goal at 30.27 for Lewis Hall#12 .. . score 1-12 . . . goals for Bradford in the period came from Ryan #8 and Max #98 they both got 2 each . . . . score 1-16 . Billingham picked up a few minor penalties James Wood #18 got 2 mins for holding , Lewis Hall #12 got 2 mins for crosschecking and Joshua Nilsen #24 got 2 mins for holding , in the final minutes of the game Niks Veiss got 2 min minor penalty for Interference. . . .that brought the game to an end as the buzzer went for the last timeA whopping 1-16 win for the Bulldogs in what was a rather uneventful game. . .Roll on 25th October when were off down to Coventry .:)Very well deserved MVP went to Lachlan Brownrigg #33shots on goal: on Billingham -49 ( Reynolds = 31 & Kelly = 18)on Bradford --9
