U18 Blackburn Away

The newly formed U18 Bulldogs had their first game of the season away at Blackburn on the 8th September, a little ironic under the circumstances. The team was short benched with only 12 players, as many of the U16’s were unavailable training with the England Team. The team had never previously played together in a game as a team, and for nearly half of the team (the ex Blackburn players) it was against ex teammates. But even under these conditions they all gave Blackburn a really tough game, outshooting them 34 shots to 22, goals came in the first on the power play from Abbie Culshaw and in the third period from Liam Kirton, but sadly we lost 3 2.  I’m sure as the team gels, and we gather a few more players they will work and get the win. MVP went to Niks Veiss.
