U16 Home: Bradford 8 - Sutton 2

The Bulldogs were back in action on Saturday against the Sutton StingThe first period was a scrappy affair with the Bulldogs constantly putting the Sting under pressure, but it was the Sting who scored first in the eleventh minute with Jake Apsley breaking through the middle and scoring a one on one against Brad Cartwright. The lead didn’t last long and fourteen seconds later James Royds scored for the Bulldogs with an assist from Kieran Brown to level the game up. The Bulldogs picked the pace up and goals followed from Max Broadhurst in the 12th minute and Adam Barnes in the 14th with assists from Kieran Brown and Lewis Baldwin. The period ended 3-1 for Bradford.The second period continued as the first with the Bulldogs having the majority of the chances. The Bulldogs were playing well and in the 16th minute Kieran Brown scored a power play goal Then again in the 22nd minute after James Spencer for the Sting had received a two minute penalty for tripping Kieran Brown Netted again from a Max Broadhurst pass. The Bulldogs were now starting to play with some of the style shown earlier in the season. The bulldogs went down to four men in the 27th minute when Josh Richardson received a ten minute penalty for cross checking. The lads still had control of the game when Nik Veiss cut inside on the blue line to rifle home a lovely short-handed goal and boy did he celebrated in style. The game restarted an instantly Niks did it again, with the period finally ending with the Bulldogs leading the game 7-1.The third period started with the Bulldogs still in control but still struggling to find their passing game. The Stars were working hard and trying their best to find a way through but we had to wait until the 35th minute for the Bulldogs get another well-deserved goal from Adam Barnes.  The Sting sneaked a scrappy goal in the thirty ninth minute when Bailey Templar netted a goal which was greeted with great cheers from their players and supporters. The game got scrappy towards the end and Max received a 10minute penalty and Ryan a Match penalty.
