Goals aplenty as Bulldogs Under-10s close out 2023-24 season

END OF THE LINE: Bulldogs’ Under-10s showed great skill and effort in their final X-ice tournament of the 2023-24 season at Nottingham on Sunday.

BRADFORD BULLDOGS’ Under-10s brought the curtain down for the club on the 2023-24 season with a final X-ice tournament at Nottingham. 

Coming up against regular opponents Nottingham, Sheffield and Sutton, the youngsters put in a series of battling displays, showing the work ethic and support for each other that has characterised their whole season, helping them develop their skills along the way. 

After opening up with a 10-2 loss against a strong Nottingham team, with Jackson Livingstone and Robson Bagott getting on the scoresheet for the Bulldogs, our youngest pups bounced back in style against Sutton in the following game with a thrilling 14-9 win. 

Robson Bagott and Evan Bulmer led the way with a hat-trick each, with Jackson Livingstone (2), Finley Mardell (2), Denis Sprogis, Oscar Graham, Conor Donaghey and Stevie Abdy also getting on the scoresheet. 

Assists were shared around the team, with Stevie Abdy (2), Oscar Graham (2), Jackson Livingstone, Denis Sprogis, Henry Martin and George Clarke registering helpers.

The last game of the day brought an 8-4 defeat against a mixed Nottingham-Sheffield team, with Robson Bagott - who also won the Spirit of the Game award - and Evan Bulmer among the goals, while Oscar Graham and George Clarke both bagged a goal and an assist each, Conor Donaghey also registering an assist. 

“It was a great way to end the season,” said Under-10s team manager, Aimee Clarke. “The pace of hockey was outstanding. 

“We may have lost two of the games, but we definitely held our own and kept up the pace throughout the entire day. 

“We couldn't have asked for any more from the team - they gave it their all.” 

After the final game, five of the Bulldogs - Jackson Livingstone, Evan Bulmer, Oscar Graham, Stephen Adby and Oliver Hill - were awarded personalised pucks by the management team as it marked their last appearance for the Under-10s before moving up to the Under-12s for the 2024-25 season.
