BRADFORD BULLDOGS Under-16s showed plenty of fight on their visit to Division One North rivals Nottingham at the weekend - but came up short over the course of three periods at the National Ice Centre.
After falling behind to a sixth-minute opener from Kingston McKenzie, the Bulldogs looked like taking a 2-1 lead into the first intermission when, first, Charlie Farrow levelled at 17.38, then Thomas Lee put them ahead 58 seconds later.
Nottingham were able to hit back before the break, though, Ewan Woodward beating Jacob Mardell with 19.12 on the clock.
The hosts were able to put some distance between themselves and the Bulldogs in the second period, however, McKenzie and Woodward both doubling their tallies before Daren Tuuling made it 5-2 at 39.50.
Three quick goals inside the first four minutes of the third period then effectively ended any hopes the Bulldogs had of a comeback.
Woodward completed his hat-trick with a power play strike at 41.36 before Alfie Atterby and Elis Wyn Thomas added to the home side’s haul.
Charles Butler made it 9-2 at 46.40, while the impressive Woodward took his personal tally to five before the Bulldogs grabbed a consolation effort with a second goal for Charlie Farrow to leave a final score of 11-3.
